Friend,
A wise man once said, “The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
Maybe that is why 92% of New Year’s Resolutions fail by February. But, what if we look at it differently?
Years ago, I was talking to someone who was teaching Financial Peace at our church, and we were encouraging people to take it, I asked her about people who had already taken it, and she told me, “Oh, most people don’t get it till the second time. It’s the second time that it clicks.”
So what if you didn’t fail last year (or the year before that, or the year before that), but what if you were preparing, practicing, learning, and growing? A new habit, a new skill, a new lifestyle is hard! We are creatures of habit, and bad habits are easy to start and hard to end. Good habits are hard to start and easy to end.
Maybe instead of a new resolution, choose a new resilience. Expect 2025 to bring challenges, and expect your flesh to be weak, but remember that your spirit is willing, you are growing, and you are not alone.
Love,
Aaron
I needed this today. Thank you.
