Friend,
I don’t know your story, but I know that you have one.
And I’m guessing if you are reading this, somewhere in that story you are feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, at-the-end-of-your-rope.
Life seems to be relentless. There’s always something new, something of dire importance, and something you just have to experience, right now.
And maybe you are relentless too. You keep saying “yes.”
Yes to the PTA.
Yes to your boss.
Yes to that event that you don’t want to go to.
Yes, yes, yes.
No wonder you are weary.
The Bible says, “Don’t grow weary in doing good,” so maybe you think you must be doing something wrong. Perhaps if you did your “yeses” better? Or prayed more? Or didn’t do that thing? (You know exactly what that thing is for you.) Then you wouldn’t be weary.
You are not limitless. You are human. And as Steve Cuss says, “It’s ok to be exactly human-sized.”
If you are weary, I invite you to join me on a journey. I’ll be writing letters to you (that are also to me). If you have hope that your weary world will one day rejoice, the only way to get there is together.
Love,
Aaron
