Friend,
My hope and prayer for you is to be able to linger longer.
I remember as a kid asking my dad, “What does that sign mean?" He looked at the No Loitering sign and told me, “It means you can’t just stand around here talking with nothing to do.”
Doesn’t that sound wonderful now?
I imagine if someone were to look at your calendar, they’d be overwhelmed even though it is filled with mostly good things. Thank you for caring for your job so much that you go the extra mile! You are a good parent for giving your kids so many opportunities that take you so many literal miles. You prioritize your faith, church, and serving others. Your schedule isn’t filled with wasteful or worthless activities.
Here’s the strange thing I’ve noticed about life. Life is best experienced in two vastly different situations:
When you prioritize and make time for great things.
When you prioritize and make time for nothing.
One of my favorite things to see is people who are lingering: The post-dinner conversation full of laughter and delight, The parking lot conversations that keep going, the morning coffee that keeps getting re-filled.
And so today, my hope and prayer for you is to linger longer. It’s hard in a world of go, go, go to be still, but I want it for you!
Love,
Aaron
To linger longer is good for our soul. So linger longer with God and you will know.
