Friend,
“That’s not right.”
Maybe nobody has said that yet to you, but it’s not right:
What he said to you.
How she treated you.
What that organization is doing to you and others.
That’s not right is one of the most important phrases we can say, because it acknowledges wrong is being done. In a world with divided attention and narcissistic tendencies, an acknowledgment is particularly powerful. (It’s not the end, but it’s the only way to start.)
It’s one thing to say it to another person, but I wonder when was the last time that you acknowledged yourself, That’s not right? When did you take time to recognize that you are being wronged instead of just worrying about everyone else? Refusing to acknowledge your own hurt is hurting you.
So today, as you go through the day, where do you need to acknowledge “That’s not right?”
You can’t heal a hurt until you acknowledge it.
You can’t right a wrong until you acknowledge it.
You can’t fix a problem until you acknowledge there is one.
Love,
Aaron
Yes, it’s true.
