Friend,
“The cave you fear to enter holds the treasure you seek.” Joseph Campbell
You’ve been putting your grief aside.
It’s not your fault. You’ve been busy. Life doesn’t stop for grief. Bills need to be paid, holidays need to be celebrated, meals need to be eaten, and sleep needs to be had.
Plus, grief is terrifying because you can’t control it. It is unpredictable, unnerving, and undesirable. Misery may love company, but company doesn’t necessarily love misery, especially around Christmas.
And so, you’ve been avoiding your grief, and today my invitation is to enter the cave of your grief to find what you are looking for, and to make room to be with your grief, your loss, and your weariness.
Specifically, I want to invite you to our Blue Christmas Service, on Sunday, January 22nd at 4:00 p.m. at Christ Church on Harvard in our Holt Chapel (enter the East Side of the facility).
It’ll be a safe space to be this Christmas season. We’ll be still, receive communion, name our grief, and be together.
I’d love to see you. If you can’t make it, then let me know and I’ll try to connect you to one that you could attend.
Love,
Aaron
