Friend,
I don’t remember much from my high school science classes, but I do remember Newton’s first law of motion. “An object at rest stays at rest, and an object in motion stays in motion.”
The same is true for you.
Some of us are moving and need to stop.
Some of us are stopped and need to move.
What do you need today?
Do you need to find a way to stop, slow, or cease? Are you so overwhelmed that you don’t know how to stop?
Or
Do you need to find the courage to start? You know what you need to do, but you can’t just do it. Are you overthinking it, or are you overfeeling it?
Overthinking—I can get stuck trying to figure out how to do the new thing perfectly instead of embracing just doing it. My mind keeps me from journaling until I’ve figured out the right journal, the right prompts, and the right routine that I’ll follow for the next 40 years. Instead, I will just start, and I will learn as I go.
Overfeeling- I can get stuck in my feelings. I don’t feel like getting out of bed early to work out. Even though I know in my head that I’ll feel better exercising, more alert, and healthier in my day, I don’t feel like getting out from under the covers, so I stay at rest. Instead, I will overcome my feelings with the courage to move. (The 5 Second Rule by Mel Robbins has a great approach to overcoming your feelings to get your goals.)
I believe in you. You can do it.
Love,
Aaron
