Friend,
Today is April 19th.
I’ll always remember April 19th.
I was in 5th grade at Hoover Elementary on April 19th, 1995 when the bomb exploded in front of the Federal Building in OKC.
Every year, we remember as a state what happened 28 years ago. An incredible memorial and museum are in place to help us remember. We know that grief from that day will linger.
I also know that you have a date when your life was radically changed. And that grief still lingers.
The date you were assaulted.
The date you lost the baby.
The date your parent passed away.
The date you were let go.
So today, as we remember together the tragedy in OKC, I invite you to write below the date that grief still lingers for you. You don’t need to name the reason, just name the date, and may we remember to walk together on ordinary days and extraordinary days.
Love,
Aaron
