Where Are You
#144
Friend,
“Where are you?”
That phrase can be interpreted in many ways…
Like “hide and seek,” a curious, “Where are you?”
Like looking for something you’ve lost, an exasperated, “Where are you?”
Like a villain looking for a hero in a movie, a threatening, “Where are you?”
In our first story, God is said to be calling out to Adam and Eve, “Where are you?” For most of my life, I’ve read that as exasperated or threatening, but what if it is curious and compassionate?
Where are you?
This is a good question to start your day: “Where are you?”
Where is your mind? Is it still, is it twirling, is it hopeful, is it despairing?
Where is your heart? Is it racing? Is it at peace? Is it divided?
Where is your body? Is it secure? Is it rested? Is it healing?
Where is your soul? Is it trusting? Is it hurting? Is it well?
Where are you? is the question that God is asking this morning and every morning. Why don’t you take some time to answer him?
Love,
Aaron
P.S. I just finished reading Chuck DeGroat’s Healing What’s Within, a phenomenal book that invites us to re-imagine the three questions God asks Adam and Eve in the garden. This post is based on his book, and if this speaks to you, then I highly encourage his book to you.
